About Us
About us
With 30 offices in 18 countries, we offer the reach and insight of a global network, combined with the knowledge and understanding of local markets. Our global reach provides numerous opportunities for our people to transfer between jurisdictions, as well as overseas secondments with leading organisations across the world. We also foster an environment where everyone feels able to be themselves and genuinely values a breadth of individual perspectives and new, innovative ideas. It’s a strong, shared culture that will enable you to bring your absolute best to work, apply your intellect, develop yourself and thrive as an international commercial lawyer.
Our clients are at the heart of everything we do. We collaborate closely with our clients, helping them navigate their most important business challenges and opportunities with practical, forward-thinking advice. As a firm at the forefront of legal innovation, we can leverage the latest technology and provide our clients with the digital capabilities required to meet their needs.
A training contract at Ashurst will move your mind beyond technical knowledge of the law. Ultimately, we want to help you become a thought leader with a reputation for clear, perceptive and influential advice – a professional in whom governments and leading businesses the world over can place their trust. This isn’t an easy route to take. You’ll need to become a shrewd negotiator, have an ability to read both balance sheets and behaviours, and become a commercial strategist with a deep understanding of specific industries. Our training contract will start you on that road. We will plan closely with you four seats of six months each, that will broaden your world view and hone your talents. At least one seat will be in a finance practice and we will also encourage you to join an overseas office or go on secondment to one of our most valued clients. There are different ways in which you can secure a training contract with us. You can apply to take part in either our Summer or Winter Vacation Schemes. At the end of each scheme students are given the opportunity to take part in a partner interview, in the hopes of securing their training contract. Also students can apply directly for our training contract.
