Overview
Hartree Partners’ Back Office internship offers exposure to the core operational, financial, and analytical functions that support global commodities trading. This structured internship is ideal for candidates interested in areas such as risk, finance, treasury, settlements, middle office operations, or process automation.
Interns will be matched to a specific team based on their academic background, interests, and where they can contribute most effectively. While preferences may be considered, interns cannot choose their team
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your placement, you may be involved in:
- Reporting, reconciliations, and data validation tasks
- Supporting margining, credit analysis, or cash management processes
- Developing dashboards or automation tools (Excel, Python, Power BI)
- Analysing financial statements or trade data
- Supporting continuous improvement or operational transformation initiatives
Required Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort with data tools or reporting platforms
- Analytical thinking and interest in financial markets or operations
- Working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI, Python, or similar tools for data visualisation or automation
- Prior exposure to financial systems or operational workflows
- Knowledge of credit, risk, or treasury processes
