About the team and the role:
This placement hiring campaign brings together UK-based placement opportunities across eBay teams focused on buyer and seller experience, category growth, trading, strategy & operations, and scaling new initiatives such as eBay Live.
You will join a collaborative and inclusive environment, working cross-functionally with Analytics, Product, Marketing, Finance, Category/Trading, Operations, and Communications teams. Each placement offers hands-on exposure to meaningful business work, where your analysis, coordination, and insights will directly support decision-making and marketplace growth.
This is a 12-month, full-time UK-based placement (hybrid working depending on team needs). You will apply once and may be matched to one of the tracks below based on your interests, skills, and business priorities.
What you will accomplish:
- Contribute to measurable marketplace outcomes through performance tracking, insight generation, and operational support
- Turn data, research, and collaborator input into clear summaries and actionable recommendations
- Support planning and execution of category, trading, programme, or operational initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve buyer and seller experiences
- Develop practical skills in analysis, coordination, and partner communication
- Gain exposure to how eBay operates at scale across categories and customer journeys
What you will bring:
- Currently enrolled in a UK degree and eligible for a 12-month placement from September 2026
- Confidence working with Excel / Google Sheets and basic data analysis
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity about e-commerce, marketplaces, and customer behaviour
- Ability to work hybrid within the UK with onsite days in our Richmond ( London ) office (team-specific expectations shared during process)
- Open to students who can commit to a 12-month industry placement, will return to university afterward, and will still be enrolled (i.e., not graduated) by September 2027.

Buyer Success: UK Buyer Strategy
You will join the UK Buyer Strategy team, focused on improving the experience of UK buyers on eBay. In this role, you will support tracking of key buyer performance metrics, identify trends and performance movements, and gather context from Analytics and partner teams to interpret changes. You will monitor competitor buyer journeys and industry trends, build structured approaches to capturing insights, and maintain visibility of UK and global initiatives impacting buyers, including homepage tests and experiments. Your work will contribute to clearer performance discussions and more informed decision-making across the UK business.
Category Management: Electronics & Home (Refurbished / Open-Box)
You will work within the Electronics & Home Category Management team, supporting the growth of refurbished and open-box programmes. The role combines data-driven analysis and hands-on trading support, including forecasting against budget, identifying weekly and monthly performance drivers, contributing to trading plans with Marketing and Deals teams, and supporting pricing, range, and gap analysis. You will also help build arguments and contribute to category planning activities that drive competitiveness and growth within non-new inventory.
Global Fashion Planning & Operations
You will join a distributed team operating at the intersection of Fashion strategy, operations, and analytics. The role is broad and dynamic, supporting global programmes from planning through execution, maintaining dashboards and reporting, coordinating cross-regional collaborators, and contributing to internal communications. Alongside operational delivery, you will support data modelling, market and competitor analysis, and ad-hoc strategic projects that inform growth initiatives across regions and categories.
UK B2C Selling Analyst
You will be part of the UK B2C Selling team, representing the voice of business sellers and supporting data-driven decision-making. The role combines programme management and analytics, including ownership of a key operational programme (e.g., tracking, forecasting, reporting), analysis of seller sentiment and satisfaction metrics, and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative feedback into clear recommendations. You will collaborate with Marketing, Analytics, and other partners to strengthen the business seller proposition and improve seller experience.
C2C Associate
You will support initiatives focused on customer-to-customer selling, working with global and UK partners to monitor competitor and customer trends, analyse business performance, and develop insights that inform growth strategies. The role includes coordinating marketing activities, supporting engagement and product testing initiatives, maintaining trackers and documentation, and helping cross-functional teams align on improvements to the customer selling experience.
UK Fashion: Category, Trading & Strategic Partnerships
You will join the UK Fashion team, supporting Category Management, Trading, and Strategic Partnerships. The role includes researching fashion and resale trends, monitoring competitor activity and buyer signals, supporting promotional planning and buyer activations, maintaining reporting templates (e.g., weekly business reviews), and coordinating across Marketing, Live, C2C, and Account Management teams. You will help ensure initiatives are well-organised, tracked, and accomplished effectively across the fashion category.
Category Management: Parts & Accessories (Including eBay Live Rollout)
You will join the UK Vehicle Parts & Accessories Category Management team, supporting growth across new and non-new inventory. The role includes conducting data analysis to understand category and seller performance. It also involves preparing presentations and arguments. Additionally, the role supports day-to-day category initiatives and contributes to the rollout of eBay Live within the vertical. You will work closely with Category Managers and project partners to support innovation, seller enablement, and execution of new marketplace initiatives.
eBay Live (Programming or Operations)
You will join the eBay Live team, supporting the growth of real-time, interactive live commerce in the UK. Depending on focus area, you may support live event programming and performance tracking (engagement, viewership, sales), or onboarding and activation of sellers, including materials development, reporting, coordination, and process improvement. The role is varied and collaborative, offering exposure to live commerce operations, seller enablement, and platform scaling within a fast-growing area of the business.
Marketing: Brand & Media — Campaigns, Planning & Creative
You will join the UK Marketing Brand team, supporting cross‑channel campaign planning and execution (briefs, asset coordination, partner alignment, brand governance, performance reporting, insight generation) and translate performance into clear insights and recommendations, collaborating with Analytics, Product, Trading, Category and Comms to deliver measurable outcomes that strengthen buyer engagement and marketplace growth.
CRM — UK Customer Team
You will join the UK Customer team, part of the global CRM organisation, building and optimising communications across email, push and on‑site messaging (segmentation, content production, QA, scheduling, test‑and‑learn) to improve engagement and retention. Partnering with Analytics, Product, Trading, Core AI and Brand to align programs and features to customer and business priorities - turning data into actionable recommendations that drive measurable outcomes and marketplace growth
