Event 1: Life as a Trainee at Ashurst Perkins Coie
Date: 12 November 2026
Time: 12pm - 1pm
What does a training contract at a global law firm actually involve, day to day? What do trainees wish they'd known before they started? And what does it really take to thrive in your first years in law?
Join us for the first event in our second series of Behind the Scenes with Ashurst Perkins Coie, where a panel of our current trainees will share the honest answers. In this relaxed, interactive lunchtime session, you'll hear from the people who are living the training contract right now, and you'll be able to put your own questions straight to them.
Inside the Training Contract
Our trainees will talk openly about their journeys at Ashurst Perkins Coie so far: the seats they've completed, the teams they've worked in, and what it feels like to take on real responsibility at an international firm. They'll cover the highlights, the learning curves and everything in between, so you can picture what your own start in law could look like with us.
What We'll Cover:
- The Work Itself: Find out what trainees are trusted with, from supporting complex cross-border transactions and high-profile matters to contributing to pro bono work that makes a difference.
- Learning and Growth: Hear how trainees develop their legal, commercial and professional skills, and the training, feedback and support that help them progress through each seat.
- Life at the Firm: Get a feel for our culture, from the collaborative teams and mentoring relationships to the people who make Ashurst Perkins Coie a great place to train.
- Open Q&A: Bring your questions. Whether you're curious about seat rotations, secondments, or what a typical week looks like, our panel is here to give you answers.
Who Should Attend?
This session is ideal for anyone considering a career in commercial law, whether you're currently working on an application, weighing up which firms suit you best, or simply want to learn more about what life as a trainee involves. It's a chance to hear directly from those who know it best.
